About Hmong Fairy

Hmong Fairy strongly believes that a bit of cultural love makes a BIG impact! Our mission is to create whimsical products that celebrate the Hmong-American experience, reflecting both positive and complicated times growing up in a multicultural generation. Our vision is to build a Hmong-American business that can guide future generations into a positive life balance; to integrate western benefits into the Hmong culture. We value family, self-compassion, work-life balance, integrity, respect, community, and kindness.

Pather Vang (pictured on bottom left) created Hmong Fairy in hopes that her children can grow up in an environment that encompasses the best of both the Hmong culture and the American Dream.

"My parents came to America to seek refuge in 1975 after the United States withdrew from the Vietnam War. Since my father was a soldier of the Secret War, my family was allowed to immigrate with the first wave of Hmong soldiers to escape the Hmong genocide in Laos. My parents will often tell me stories from when they still lived in Laos, and raised my siblings and I the same way they were raised. I love my culture and understand why certain traditions are done, but it's been more than 40 years since the Hmong have lived in America. As a 1st generation college graduate, I had the opportunity to learn different ways to succeed as an individual in the US. I strive to live my life by remembering my roots and the hardship my parents endured, but also by modifying some old traditions that no longer relate to today's success and mental well-being. I've always had a passion for baking and crafting, so I created Hmong Fairy to share my love of Hmong-inspired art, the joy I find in the cute and whimsical style, and to share positive messages that helped me when I was trying to find a balance in my Hmong-American identity. When people see my products, I hope they can see that it is possible to find a healthy life-balance when coexisting in multiple cultures."

Pather shares her Hmong-American experiences through her social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok) in hopes to spread awareness of the Hmong culture, and how she hopes some traditional aspects can be modified so her children can grow up in an understanding and welcoming community.
